Girls are waiting for leaders, advisors, mentors and coaches.
Sign up to help on a regularly scheduled basis, for specific events or even once a year. The choice is yours! What about orientation and training? Depending on your volunteer role, you may need training. Troop/group leaders and advisors take a series of age-specific and basic leadership trainings designed to help them lead the different age levels in Girl Scouting. Orientation: Getting Started is the first training many volunteers take in order to start working with girls in a troop or group setting. In order to make volunteering for Girl Scouts easier, this training is available in your neighborhood. Trainings at a Glance will give you an overview of all of our training classes available and what you will learn in each. The Training Calendar lists trainings by class. Check back often as classes may be added and changes to locations and times are occasionally necessary. To register for a training, download the Adult Training Registration Form. The Girl Scout program is built on progression. As girls and adults build their skills and gain confidence in their abilities, they can plan and carry out increasingly advanced activities. Outdoor, Travel and Trainings takes the mystery out of which trainings are required before accompanying Girl Scouts on a progression of field trips, overnight stays, and outdoor activities. For more information on volunteering with Girl Scouts, visit Contact Us, call 1(800) 624-4757 or e-mail gsomb@gsomb.org.
